The Roger Wolfe family started Pine Valley Farms in the summer of 1977.  The farm at that time consisted of fields of corn, and alfalfa and a number of pigs and steers.  The first seedlings were planted that summer on five acres of the 100 acre farm and most of the seedlings, due to the hot and dry summer, died.   Late that summer, Roger and Jane moved to the farm with their three children (at that time, eleven, thirteen and fifteen years of age). The eleven years old, Holden Wolfe, is now the farm manager.
